Abstract

|
The prosthetic techniques and products for restoring gait of lower limb amputees have evolved dramatically with adopting new technologies and materials. Though as factors affecting the gait of amputees in prosthetic parts, artificial feet and knees, ankle joint are considered to be most important, the locking device as well as socket and liner, which are connecting stumps and artificial devices, also play a big role and can influence don-doff behavior and convenience of gait. In this article, the new prosthetic products as socket materials of hybrid type and a locking device using magnets were introduced, and it is anticipated that new prosthetic technologies and materials will be developed actively and presented on the market in the future.
